Doctrine
Six oysters cover a week of zinc. Zinc is the mineral that frees bound testosterone; it is also the first one training depletes.
Why this recipe
Oysters, without the shucking anxiety
Oysters carry more zinc per gram than any other food, alongside copper and selenium in the ratio the endocrine system runs on. A pan roast is the forgiving way in: the liquor goes into the cream, so nothing is lost, and there is no half-shell to negotiate.
The cream and butter are not a garnish. Zinc absorbs better with fat and protein alongside it, and the dish is built so a dozen oysters becomes a plate rather than an appetiser.
